A year ago, I packed my bags and made my way to Bochum, Germany, to kickstart my PhD journey at Ruhr University Bochum. I have managed to settle in and create a home in the clean and green city of Bochum with the help of new friends that I made and amazing colleagues from the Tischler group.
Over the year, #BiodeCCodiNNg has provided a platform to learn and connect with experts from both academia and industry by organizing workshops for me and my fellow DCs. This meant I also got to travel to the Netherlands, Austria and Sweden for exciting science 🌱🔬.
In the lab, I have managed to work on metal-independent formate #dehydrogenases that we use for NADPH regeneration with our N-hydroxylating #enzymes, and now I am working on sampling #immobilization carriers from our industrial partner ChiralVision. I am looking forward to presenting a poster at the International Congress on Biocatalysis which will be held in Hamburg from the 25th to the 29th of Aug, so come and let’s meet there and talk about all things #biocatalysis! 🚀
