About one year ago, I started my PhD journey here in Groningen, The Netherlands. In that time, a lot of things have happened. I got settled in a new country and got to know and befriend many new #colleagues here and abroad (see picture proof).
Research-wise, I was able to establish the basic methods and analytics required to study and engineer my novel #NNzymes in the next three years. I even had the opportunity to publish our research in my first article, and to present initial results with a poster at the NextGenBiocat conference in Greece, where I got into contact with many international researchers 👨🔬. My first #secondment took place in Graz, Austria, which allowed me to take a deep dive into structural biology. I attended #workshops and meetings to gain and share experiences. All of this while staying in close contact and frequent discussions with my DC colleagues all across Europe. It’s a joy conspiring with you! 😊
During the next year of my PhD, my next secondment in Bochum, Germany, will take place, taking me back to the place where my studies began. I also plan to attend the Advances in Chemical Biology conference in January. Also, keep an eye out for potential publications! 👀
I’m looking forward to the next years of this exciting #research project. Keep you posted! 📑
