The next generation of students is excited about biotechnology! At RWTH Aachen’s “Erstiwoche” (introductory week for first semester students) and RWTH “Tag der Biologie” (day of biology; an information day for school children), starting students and those curious learned why #enzymes are so relevant in drug manufacturing, and why we are investigating new enzymatic reactions at #BiodeCCodiNNg. They now know that we can synthesize high-value chemicals in a straightforward way, exchange certain amino acids in an enzyme to make new reactions possible, and many other things!
