Hey there! My name is Corina, I’ve traded the charming streets of Zagreb for the vibrant allure of Barcelona, where I’m embarking on a thrilling 3-year PhD adventure as a part of the BiodeCCodiNNg Doctoral Network!

Barcelona is not just any city; it’s a work of art itself. This breathtaking city has a special place in my heart for both its stunning architecture and rich artistic heritage. I have a deep love for the arts, and Barcelona provides endless inspiration. I adore spending my weekends leisurely strolling around, exploring the city’s iconic landmarks. The mesmerizing works of the great Antoni Gaudí, like the whimsical Casa Batlló, are unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Gaudí’s architectural creations, inspired by the marine world, are a true testament to his genius. 🏛🎨

But Barcelona’s beauty doesn’t stop at its artistic wonders. The entire city is a masterpiece, with its vibrant streets, delicious cuisine, and warm Mediterranean climate. Every corner of this city is a sight to behold. 🌇🖼

As for my PhD journey, I’ve just begun this thrilling adventure at the Instituto de Química Avanzada de Cataluña (IQAC-CSIC). It’s been a month since I stepped into the world of artificial enzymes. My background is in organic chemistry, and this transition into the biotechnological realm is both challenging and fascinating. I genuinely believe that the fusion of organic chemistry and biotechnology is where the real magic happens, especially in terms of practical applications for various industries. 🧪👩‍🔬⚗

So, whether I’m out exploring the architectural gems of Barcelona, immersing myself in the world of art, or delving into my research, every moment is a unique blend of academic discovery, the sheer beauty of life in this vibrant city, and the endless inspiration it provides. 🏰🎨🔬
